My name is Rose Maddux.
I was born in Oregon and have spent almost all of my life here in Douglas County. It is a beautiful place to live. I am married and have three grown children, two of which are now married. I have a large extended family and we try to keep in touch with each other.
Hobbies: My hobbies are doing yard work, crocheting, making quilts, math, reading books, cooking, canning foods when I have time, and spending time with friends.
We have a cat named Sassy, who is getting very spoiled in the house and someday I would like to get a little dog, maybe a Shit-tzu.
I have almost always liked math, except in the 5th grade when I struggled to learn long division. I like to do puzzles and math is sort of like a puzzle to me. I think it is fun and very useful in every part of our lives. I want my students to learn to like and appreciate mathematics. I also want them to realize that they shouldn't be afraid of math. I would like them to find something about math that they can do and be good at and then possibly enjoy.
I like working with students. They are fun and challenging to be around. I always want to be learning new things and teaching is a good way to do that. I hope to help my students love the subject as much as I do, or at least learn to appreciate its value and know how to apply it in their lives when the need arises and it surely will.
